Sayulita Beach
Only 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, nestled in the foot hills of the Sierra Madre Occidental is the charming village of Sayulita. Surrounded by lush jungle and beautiful beaches, our little town has become the heart and soul of the Riviera Nayarit. In the 1940′s, Sayulita Beach was a small fishing village, and by the 60′s, the surfers discovered this fabulous spot and have “put it on the map.”
Sayulita Beach has become a mecca for surfers of all levels, but the truth is, it is more than a surfers’ heaven. It is a paradise that offers something for everyone. We invite you to take a look around our site where you will find many videos of villa rentals, hotels, restaurants, tour providers and other local businesses.

Our Bohemian gem
There is a kind of Bohemian feel to the pueblo that makes you feel relaxed, comfortable and ready to enjoy the flavor of Mexico. Perhaps this is why Sayulita Beach has become one of Mexico’s finest gems, and unlike any other beach towns in the Riviera Nayarit.
It offers a full variety of activities from surfing, paddleboarding, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, whale watching, jungle canopy tours, or horseback riding. Your nights are filled with flavor at one of our unique and diverse restaurants or bars.
There are beaches sprinkled all along the coast, so besides enjoying the main beach there are smaller beaches great for swimming. A couple of the favorites are Playa de Los Muertos and Playa Carricitos. These can be reached by a short walk from the center of town.
The busy streets are filled with vendors selling handcrafted arts and crafts. You will find anything and everything from blankets, hats, clothes, jewelry to the beautiful and colorful art created by the Huichol indians, indigenous to this area.
The town has become an international destination, entertaining travelers with a full variety of boutiques, art galleries and restaurants. Whether it is a delicious taco from one of the many stands that line the street corners, fresh fish and seafood caught daily, or a fine dining experience, Sayulita offers it all.
It is also home base for Festival Sayulita; a gathering for all lovers of Mexico, film, spirits, food, music and surf, typically held in February.
Premier wedding destination
Weddings in Sayulita have become a popular choice for couples deciding to tie the knot. Reuters named Nayarit as one of the top 10 places around the world to get married. When wedding season is in full bloom, fireworks often light the evening skies.
It is a perfect place to say “I do” with an abundance of venues to choose from including wedding planners, photographers, large villas, caterers, and picturesque beach front settings or palapas perched up on hill tops overlooking the entire village and ocean.
Weddings can be customized to be quaint and modest and all the way up to extravagant.
